AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Mackenzie, wife of the late Emanuele Mackenzie, died on Friday, June 13, 2008 at Heartland Hospice. She was 45 years old. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at The Poteet Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in the funeral home chapel. Committal services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date. Mrs. Mackenzie was born in Augusta, Ga. She was of the non-denominational faith and was retired from the food industry. Mrs. Mackenzie is survived by her father, Richard Flake of Brazil; her daughter, Arica Mackenzie and her husband Joshua Batchelor of Augusta; sisters, Carol Hendricks and Frances Kelly both of Augusta; brother, Ricky Flake of Asheville, NC; two grandchildren, Bailey and Emanuele Batchelor, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her daughter, Arica Mackenzie.
