GROVETOWN, Ga. - Thomas "Tom" Sanchez, 53, beloved husband of Young Sanchez, entered into rest on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 13, 2008 at New Hope Worship Center with Pastor Rich Bowen officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:30 until the time of service. Interment with full military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Joey Simpson, Roger Gardner, Joel Smith, Terrence Bridges, Bill Thompson, Joe McElmurray, and Ron Sprayberry will serve as active pallbearers. Mr. Sanchez retired from the US Army and then went to work for the Kingdom of God. He was a member of New Hope Worship Center where he was active in the Inner City Bridge Ministry and his small Men's Group. He was devoted to his entire family and will be greatly missed. In addition to his wife of 18 years, he is survived by three sons, Tommy Sanchez, Tennessee, Mark Sanchez, Texas and John Palmer, Grovetown; three grandchildren; sisters, Mary and Julie Sanchez; brothers, Luis, Armando, Sam and Alfred Sanchez, all of Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia.
