A RANT WITH PEOPLE too lazy to put a shopping cart in the cart deposits, especially when they are only a few feet away. If you are able to walk into the store, then you are able to put the cart away.
I KNOW THAT PEOPLE who rant and rave online understand the online comments, but those of us who missed that part of the show have a hard time understanding the whole topic. I think that this is wasted space.
HOORAY FOR Jeanine Williams, who handles appointments for MCG clinics. She is cheerful, efficient and professional. What a terrific person to have taking calls for such a vast institution.
AIRLINE FARES INCREASING, paying for peanuts, cramped conditions, cancelled flights and now a luggage penalty, OH MY, how I miss passenger train service!
WHY WORRY ABOUT terrorists or weapons of mass destruction when corporate oil companies can undermine the very core of our country and our lives with oil prices and excessively high profit margins?
I READ YOUR STORY about how Tim McNeill is handling his brain tumor; good for Mr. McNeill. His is the same type as that of Teddy Kennedy, but Mr. McNeill didn't get a taxpayer-paid helo ride to the hospital or a police escort home. Why not? The tumor might be the same, but the treatment is better for Teddy.
THE I-20 CORRIDOR is a bald wasteland and soon to be a concrete corridor. Consider, then, the commercial development under way along I-20. It's a terrible way to introduce our city to outsiders. Perhaps we should change the nickname from "Augusta, the Garden City" to "Augusta, the Shopping Center City."
A HUGE RAVE for the volunteers from American Legion Posts 178, 192 and 505, Ladies Auxiliary to The American Legion, Sons of The American Legion, American Legion Motorcycle Riders, Youth Challenge Academy at Fort Gordon, Boy Scouts and home students who helped put flags on the veterans' graves at Hillcrest and Mount Olive cemeteries May 24.
MARION WILLIAMS AS mayor of Blythe? Y'all must be off your rocker. We need Daniel Martin to run and straighten things out.
TO ALL THE NUTRITION assistants in south Richmond County: You do a wonderful job serving all of the students. No one else notices this. ... If it wasn`t for all of you, the students could not learn when they are not fed.
