NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Ms. Sallie Lou Smith entered into rest on Friday, June 6, 2008 at her residence. She was born August 27, 1947 to the late Ned and Leila Smith in Edgefield County, S.C. At an early age, she received the Lord and was baptized at Mims Grove Baptist Church. Left to cherish fond memories are sons, Jeff Morton, Jr., Eddie (Renee Harris) Morton; one son preceded her in death, Jerry Morton; a devoted ex-husband, Jeff Morton, Sr.; two grandchildren, Jacquez Morton, Zatayas Sullivan; one brother, King David (Estelle) McKie; two sisters, Ms. Fannie Smith, Annie Smith; one sister preceded her in death, Bessie M. Smith; two devoted nieces, Ethel Williams, Alberta Morton; two godsons, Zavier Miles, Pele Williams; best friend, Carol Pryor; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Old Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends tonight at the Peoples Funeral Home, 723 Walton Way, from 4-6 p.m.
