While in the Marines, he rose through the ranks from Private to Captain, a tribute to his determination, leadership and natural gift with people. He was also an active member of St. Henry's Catholic Church. Morris Ransom died as he lived: with a mixture of quiet strength that radiated from within him, and a gentle, unspoken kindness that was felt by everyone whom he came into contact with in his life.
