AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Dorothy B. McWhirter, 84, beloved wife of the late James E. McWhirter, entered into rest on Sunday, June 01, 2008. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 3:30 P.M. at Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. McWhirter was born in Ralls, Texas, but lived the majority of her adult life in Augusta, Georgia. Survivors include one son, James Dana McWhirter and wife Patti of Evans, Georgia; one daughter, Cathy M. Smith of Evans, Georgia; grandson, James David McWhirter and wife Joy of Atlanta, Georgia: granddaughter, Chandler E. Smith of Evans, Georgia. The Family will receive friends Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Home on Davis Road.
