PARKSVILLE, S.C. - Mr. Stanley Gilchrist, 80, of Washington School Road, entered into rest June 2, 2008 at the VA Medical Center, Uptown, Augusta. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mr. Gilchrist, a native of McCormick County, was a member and deacon of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, serving in many capacities. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and co-owner of Gilchrist Construction Company. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Azalee Searles Gilchrist of the home; a daughter, Joyce (Darryl) Brown, Irmo, S.C.; a son, Claude Gilchrist, Parksville, S.C.; two brothers, Robertson (Evelyn) Gilchrist, Plum Branch, S.C. and Ervin (Eleanor) Gilchrist, Willington, S.C.; three sisters, Geruther Gilchrist and Rebertha (James) Gilchrist, Parksville, S.C., and Eleather (J.C.) Williams, Evans, Ga.; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the residence. G. L.
