WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Robert "Bob" Bryant Rodgers, 72, entered into rest Saturday, May 31, 2008 at his home after an extended illness. A native of Panama City, Fl., he was born December 18, 1935 to the late Grover Bryant and Stella Andrews Rodgers. He worked at the Federal Paper Mill in Augusta. He was a Powerhouse Operator until retiring after 40 years of service. Mr. Rodgers was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served a tour of duty on the U.S.S. Perkins. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandra Marie Alsobrook Rodgers; and his sister, Katrina Christian. Family members include his daughter, Reesa Smith (David), of Waynesboro; son, Matt Riemer (Trish), of Lynn Haven, Fl; 4 grandchildren, Mandy Hillis, Brent Smith, Tanner Smith, and Nikki Riemer; 2 great grandchildren, Jackson Hillis, and Lane Hillis; nephew, Chris Christian, nieces, Renee Christian, and Pam Christian Dix. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
