Emmitt Smith (WILLISTON, S.C.)

WILLISTON, S.C. - Deacon Emmitt Smith, Jr., affectionately called "Cooterman," entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Home going celebration will be conducted on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 4 p.m. at Silver Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie L. Bush officiating. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Mary E. Smith; two sons, Roger Smith and John Barfield; six daughters, Emma Smith, Rosa Smith, Brenda Smith, Juanita Smith, Lizzie Sanders, and Falessa Johnson; his mother, Angie Smith; one sister, Mary Elam; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
