BELVEDERE, S.C. - Mr. Julian Harrison McLane, 78, husband of Mrs. Athena McLane, of Belvedere, entered into rest Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the Rowland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park with Military Honors. Mr. McLane was born in Seneca, South Carolina, having made Belvedere his home since 1953. He was a member of Curtis Baptist Church, was employed by the E.I. DuPont Company from 1953 to 1968, and retired from Coca-Cola in 1994 after 12 years of service. Mr. McLane was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served on the U.S.S. Grenadier Submarine and received the Good Conduct Medal, the China Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the Japanese Occupation Medal and the UN Medal. He was an artist who loved to paint, using oils, acrylics and water colors. Mr. Mclane was preceded in death by his daughter, Amalia Despina McLane.
