BARNWELL, S.C. - Douglas Alton Wilder, 73, died Tuesday, May 20,2008 in the Edgefield County Hospital of injuries received in an automobile accident. Doug was born on Jan. 14,1935 in Louisburg NC. He was the son of the late James W. and Theresa Perry Wilder. He was a retired electrician and member of The IBEW Local #1529 of Augusta, Ga. He was a peacetime veteran of the US Army having served in Korea. He was a member of Seven Pines Baptist Church where he was involved with the sound and video ministry. He was a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge #17. He was an avid golfer and Carolina Gamecock fan. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday at the Seven Pines Baptist Church, Snelling, SC with Rev. Mark Watford and Rev. Billy Mew officiating. Burial will follow at the Barnwell Co. Memorial Cemetery (Airport) with Masonic Rites accorded. Visitation will be from 7-9 pm Thursday evening at Mole Funeral Home. Survivors include; His Wife, Annette B. Wilder of Barnwell, SC; daughter, Shirley Wilder Whitehead of Barnwell, SC; Grandsons, Brian (Jamie) Whitehead, Ryan Whitehead and Brad Whitehead of Barnwell; Great Grandchildren, Matthew Anderson, Karson Whitehead, and Drew Whitehead of Barnwell, SC; Brothers, Jimmy Wilder of Laurens, SC, Jerry Wilder of Woodstock Ga., Mickie Wilder of Spartanburg SC, Rex Wilder of Lithonia Ga.; Sister Judy Glanville of Lexington, SC; Special cousins, Bob and Judy Lee, Vanessa Baxley and Family, Penny Weber and family, and Bobbie Epperson and family.
