EVANS, Ga. - Kenneth Elliott Edwards Sr., 77, beloved husband of 56 years to Melideen Moore Edwards entered into rest Monday May 19, 2008 at Heartland Hospice. Ken was the youngest son of the late Ola Edwards and Alice Edwards Brown. He retired from Georgia Power after 33 years and spent several years traveling the country with his wife. Ken was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His two granddaughters were the light of his life. He enjoyed hunting, golf, and coin collecting and was a past Masonic Worshipful Master at the Martinez and Daylight Lodge. In his time as a Mason he enjoyed coaching new members on the obligations of Masonry. Ken is survived by his devoted wife, one daughter, Melody Edwards Hegler and husband Vincent of Evans, GA, one son, Kenneth (Kenny) Elliott Edwards Jr. and wife Linda of Stockbridge, GA, two granddaughters, Christine (Chrissy) Edwards Covarruvias and husband Ricardo of Newnan, GA, Kimberly (Kim) Edwards of Stockbridge, GA, two brothers, Leonard (Lum) Edwards and wife Grace of Clarks Hill, and Donald (Skeet) Edwards and wife Gloria of Augusta, GA and a host of nieces and nephews. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank Dr. Stan Smith, the staff of 10 West at University Hospital, the staff at Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care during Ken's illness. At his request there will be no funeral services; the family will receive friends at the residence on Thursday evening May 22, 2008.
