SARDIS, Ga. - C. James 'Dimsey' Holland, age 91, died Monday, May 19, 2008 at his residence in Sardis under the care of Trinity Hospice. He was a native of Burke County and a member of Sardis Methodist Church. He was retired from the forestry industry as a lumber inspector and was a former member of the Sardis City Council. He was also the Secretary and Treasurer for the Old Mayfield Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Mamie Ruth Lee Holland. Survivors: Daughter: Brenda Gail H. Miller of Statesboro; Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Douglas A. (Dorene) Holland of Augusta, Tellie M. Holland of Sardis and Curtis (Cheri) Peterson of Augusta; Brother: Jerry Holland of Pooler; 7 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews. Visitation: Wednesday, May 21, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services: 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Chapel with Chaplain Frankie B. May officiating. Burial at St. Marks Cemetery in Sardis. Pallbearers: Russell Lee, Ivey Miller, Michael Hamilton, Christopher Peterson, Ronnie Brannon, Terry Lee, Wendell Finch, Richard Ellison, Jim Jenkins and Tommy Holland.
