LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Miss Hope Glidewell, formerly of Ashmore- Barden Rd. died Tues., May 22, 2008 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Thomson. She was 86 years old. The funeral will be held Thursday, May 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Revs. Terry Joyner and Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Miss Glidewell,daughter of the late Alex W. and Eva Wood Glidewell, was born in Lincoln County on April 10, 1922. She retired after thirty years as an elementary school teacher. During her career, Miss Glidewell taught at Fleming and Glenn Hills in the Richmond County School System. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Pinson and Eileen Kelley and brothers, John A. and Lemuel W. Glidewell. Survivors: sisters: Henrietta McIntyre and Rebecca Mahaffey of Warner Robbins; brother: William J. "Joe" Glidewell, Lincolnton.
