BARNWELL, S.C. - John Wesley Langford Jr., 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the University Hospital, Augusta, Ga. Mr. Langford was born on July 12, 1924 in Jasper County. He was a son of the late John W Langford Sr. and Rosalie Kirkley Langford. He was a graduate of Clemson University and served in the Army Air Corp in the European Theater during WWII. He retired from Milliken Corp. as Human Resources Manager. He was a former member of the Barnwell Lions Club, Barnwell Chamber of Commerce, Barnwell County Hospital Board. He was a member of the Barnwell United Methodist Church for 49 years, also serving on the Administrative Board. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday at the Barnwell United Methodist Church with Rev. Joey McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:30 pm Wednesday at Mole Funeral Home. Survivors include: His beloved wife of 65 years: Anera W. Langford of Barnwell; sons and daughter in law: Johnny Langford, Barry and Penny Langford of Barnwell; and the light of his life, grandsons, James Anderson Langford and William Bryson Langford of Barnwell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
