South Carolina tops Tennessee

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Reese Havens hit a walk-off two-run homer to give South Carolina a 10-8 win against Tennessee and clinch a spot in the Southeastern Conference tournament.

The Gamecocks (37-19, 15-15 SEC) led most of the game, answering Shawn Griffin's solo homer in the first with back-to-back RBI doubles from Justin Smoak and James Darnell. Darnell finished 4-for-5 with five RBIs, including a three-run homer in the sixth to break a 3-3 tie.

Jeff Lockwood kept the Volunteers (27-29, 12-18) in the game with his three-run homer in the top of the ninth to tie the game at eight.

Brandon Todd (3-1) struck out five in 2 2/3 innings to pick up the win. Joey Rosas (4-3) came on in the ninth and gave up the game-winning homer to take the loss.
