George Peter Grisko (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - George Peter Grisko entered into rest on May 9, 2008. He was born November 5, 1908 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He was the son of the late Peter and Mary Grisko. His beloved wife, Doris, preceded him in death. George is survived by his son, Kenneth and his wife Karen; granddaughter, Kelly and her husband, Ron James and two great grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob James. George retired as an engineer from Rohr Aircraft Corporation in Chula Vista, California in 1972. He lived many years in Coronado, California and moved to Augusta in 1981. He was an ordained Deacon of the First Baptist Church of San Diego, California, and for the last five years was a member of Abilene Baptist Church of Martinez. George was a WWII veteran and graduate of the University of Rhode Island. Before his health failed, he was an avid golfer. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Abilene Baptist Church Building Fund. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Daniel officiating.
