TIGNALL, Ga. - Mrs. Matilda "Tillie" Lee Thompson Bufford, 84, of Tignall, died May 8, 2008. She was a native of Gore, Okla., the daughter of the late Jess Lee Thompson and Bertha Jewel Stephens Thompson. Mrs. Bufford was a retired seamstress and a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Men Bufford, Jr. and a grandson, Hal Bufford. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 3 p.m. in Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Callaway officiating. James Harper, Bo Rhodes, Charles Daniel, Ed Rhodes, Carl Bailey, and Johnny Carroll will serve as pallbearers and men of Beulah Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Linda Bufford, Winston, LeRoy and Cindy Bufford, Tignall, and Jesse and Jeri Bufford, Marietta; ten grandchildren, Jenni Bourquine, Brandy Stanford, Amy Howard, Susan Whitfield, Billy Bufford, Krissy Veal, Cody Beggs, Joe Bufford, Jamie Standard, and Marie Arcenia; and seventeen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Vera Harper, 3298 Delhi Rd., Tignall, GA 30668.
