AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. Ernest Shaw Reynolds Jr., 90, died at Aiken Regional Medical Center on May 3, 2008. Graveside service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 PM at Aiken Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Gerald Bledsoe officiating. Mr. Reynolds was born in Providence, RI to the late Ernest Shaw Reynolds Sr. and Ruth Caverly Reynolds. He was a retired Post Master and served in the US Navy Sea Bees during WWII and was a highly decorated member with the 64th Battalion. He was a member of the American Legion Post 26, sang in the church choir all his life, and enjoyed working at the Masters. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Claudette Kimberly Bledsoe. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Fields Reynolds; daughters, Carolyn (Ramson) Bledsoe, Summerton, SC, Patricia (Jerry) Barrett, Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Beth (Spence) Cumming, Gina (Chris) Waites, David Dixon, Eric (Ashleigh) Dixon; great grandchildren, Justin Waites, Davis R. Waites, Brady Waites, Olivia Dixon, Landyn Cumming, and a niece, Kathleen (David) Carr, Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren and their families. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Tuesday prior to the service at Shellhouse Funeral Home, 924 Hayne Ave., Aiken, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tri Development Center, PO Box 698, Aiken, SC 29801 or Leukemia Society of America, SC Chapter, 261-B Riverchase Way, Lexington, SC 29072.
