LYNCHBURG, Va. - Christopher Jordan Kicklighter, 36, of Lynchburg passed away on May 2, 2008. He is survived by his wife Laura Ann Kicklighter; daughters Margaret Emily Kicklighter, 7, and Josephine Ann Kicklighter, 2, all of Lynchburg; his parents James and Judy Kicklighter and brother Dan Kicklighter, of Augusta, Georgia; grandmother Betty Haskins, of Roy, Utah, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents W. C. and Wanda Kicklighter, of Screven, Georgia, and maternal grandparents M. O. and Josephine Haskins, of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Roy, Utah. Jordan was born in Augusta, Georgia, and graduated from Westside High School in 1990. He attended Georgia Southern University and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1995. He lived in Galveston, Texas, from 1997-2005, where he was employed by the University of Texas Medical Branch. He was most recently employed by Lynchburg College, in the Office of Community Advancement. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of Lynchburg College's observatory at Claytor Nature Study Center and in the institution of the College's recycling program. Jordan loved music and being outdoors. He was the happiest when playing his guitar and being with his beautiful family. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Monday, May 5, 2008. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 6, at 11:00 am at the Lynchburg College Snidow Chapel with Rev. David Cobb officiating. There will also be a service at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Georgia, at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 8, followed by burial in Westover Cemetery. A reception in Jordan's honor will be held at the church after the burial.
