CAMPOBELLO, S.C. - Irving Arthur Unger, 86, of Campobello died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at The Cottages at Brushy Creek, in Greer. Born in New Haven, CT on January 8, 1922, he was the son of the late Morris and Pauline Rosenberg Unger. Mr. Unger was owner of Augusta Transfer and Storage, Augusta, GA for thirty years and dabbled in woodworking and painting. He was a member of Temple B'nai Israel , Rotary Club and BPOE (Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks). He had lived in Augusta, GA for thirty years, Hilton Head, SC for twenty years and for the last three years in Campobello. He is survived by his wife, Marian Brett Unger whom he married on November 24, 1949 in Augusta, GA.; daughters Sandy Gordin and husband, Stephen of Campobello; Carol Pakchar and husband, Jay of Atlanta; Lisa Schoer and husband, Jack of Augusta, GA.; grandchildren Sarah Nutting, Jonathan Nutting, Debby Gordin, Matthew Pakchar, Ethan Pakchar, Jennifer Annis, Leslie Annis, and Justin Annis; a great-grandchild, Seth Annis; a sister, Ethel Blum of Wynnewood, PA, and a brother, Victor Unger, Doylestown, PA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Temple B'Nai Israel, 146 Heywood Avenue, Spartanburg, conducted by Rabbi Yossi Liebowitz.
