NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Stoe Greene, 74, of Byrnes Road, North Augusta, SC who entered into rest May 3, 2008 will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the First Baptist Church of North Augusta. Dr. Gary C. Redding officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park. Mrs. Greene was a native of Atlanta having made North Augusta her home for the past 49 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta. Mrs. Greene was a former kindergarten teacher at First Baptist Church as well as a former Sunday School Teacher and Children's Choir leader. She was a member of the Hill and Dale Garden Club, a board member of the Aiken County Council on Aging and delivered Meals on Wheels faithfully for over 20 years. The family expresses deep appreciation to those who provided loving care during her extended illness. Survivors include her husband, Thomas W. Greene Sr.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Rick Holcomb and Susan and Charlie Askey, all of Charlotte, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas W. and Patti Greene, Jr., Fort Mill, SC; a sister, Nancy Appleby, Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren, Andy and Katie Holcomb, Allison, Alex and Adam Askey, Judson, Becca and Chandler Greene; in addition, Mrs. Greene is survived by many loving, faithful friends. Pallbearers will be Alex Askey, Adam Askey, Andy Holcomb, Mike Hawkins, Dave Hawkins and Buddy Hawkins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of North Augusta Children's Learning Center, 625 Georgia Ave, North Augusta, SC 29841.
