Carolina rants and raves

A RANT TO THE owner of the tire/auto shop in downtown North Augusta. While I was trying to enjoy today's Tour De Georgia, all I could hear were negative comments and redneck banter from him while the race was going on. He seemed to be upset that his business was being "shut down for two hours" for this. It struck me funny that he and all of his workers were sitting in the parking lot watching the race that they were complaining about. Seems to me work on cars could continue even though the traffic outside was stopped. Perhaps he could not be so negative about a big event for the area and work on a few of the cars filling his parking lot. At a glance, this would seem more productive.

CLEARWATER'S VOLUNTEER fire department chief should be ashamed. Not only are they riding around with two fire trucks and the first responder ambulance, they make nasty remarks to citizens that pay for fire service when they are asked about their joy riding with the cost of diesel over $4. Also, allowing a person that is not on the fire department to drive the ambulance. There was no fire in Clearwater Saturday.

NEWS SAYS, "THE investment vehicle headed by Al Gore has closed a new $683 (million) fund ..." Can you imagine anybody willing to invest such money in such a nitwit? He's never held a real job in his life, never met a payroll, never even got anything right. Clearly, this is just big-bucks folks hoping their "investment" will get them in some doors that an ex-vice president can get open.

NEWS REPORT: "MORE than three million Latin American immigrants in the United States, responding to the economic downturn and new uncertainties about their future, have stopped sending money home to their families." Now, that's the funniest, most ironic justice we've seen in years.

HOW DO YOU drive a vehicle, let alone use a turn signal, with a cell phone in one hand and a cigarette in the other? I'm lucky I can drive in this city with both hands on the wheel trying to anticipate what some of these idiotic drivers are going to do.

TALK ABOUT IRONY. The new video game Grand Theft Auto 4 is rated "M" for "mature." What "mature" person would purchase and play such trash?

RANT TO DEMOCRATS. The world would be a lot better off without you. Please just go away!

IF GAS PRICES are so outrageous, why do I still have to wait in line to fill up? Queuing is usually a result of selling a good below-fair-market value.

IF TEDDY ROOSEVELT could see how you right-wing fascists are trying to take over the country, he would climb out of his grave and put you in it. Amen!

BIG WESTERN RANCHES being used by weirdo sects, in more than one state. Does anyone ever ask, "Who finances these bizarre places?" Big ranches and big buildings don't come cheap.
