AUGUSTA, GA - Mr. Ran Lewis Walden of Roosevelt Drive entered into rest Wednesday, April 29, 2008 at the Trinity Hospital. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Peel Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Edward Jones and Elder Mark Walden officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. He was a native of Burke County, Georgia; a retiree of the Richmond County Board of Education and Medical College, GA and a member of Peel Grove Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. Survivors are his children, Randy Walden, Jackie (Rufus) Young, George (Dora) Walden, Sherry Walden, Terry Walden, Dennis (Pat) Gore, Augusta, GA; Velvet (Doug) Dishmond, Midville, Ga., Mary Tarver, Rosier, GA; seven stepchildren, six sisters, Eliza Cooper, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, Pearlie (Horace) Batts, Louisville, Ga., Charlotte Hall, Dania, FL, Pauline Williams, Augusta, GA, Mamie Frazier, Mattie (Eugene) Sims, Augusta; one brother, Elder Mark (Mary) Walden, adopted brother, Eugene Loyd, Augusta, GA, twenty-three grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
