MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Doctors Hospital, Mr. George A. "Ollie"" Brown, 73, husband of Jackie Brown. Mr. Brown was a native of Lincolnton and a lifetime resident of the Augusta area. He was retired after 33 years from the US Postal Service. Mr. Brown owned Rhodes-Murphy Tax Office Franchise in Lincolnton. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a longtime, loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs and enjoyed gardening. Family members in addition to his wife include his daughters: Kim Robinson (Tommy) of Martinez, Rene Suggs (Dale) of Thomson; sons: Keith Brown (Dani) of North Augusta, Kevin Brown (Karen) of Martinez; grandchildren: Stephanie Robinson (Stephen), Michael Robinson, Jason Robinson, Jaime Putnam (Eli), Sean Suggs, Kailyn Brown, Ramsey Brown, Blake Moore, Anne Cevales; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers: Lanier Brown, Ed Brown and sisters: Brenda Mercer (Tommy) and Judy Barber. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Tony Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
