Today: Graves Mountain, a former mine known for its rare and sometimes very valuable minerals, will be open to the public for the semi-annual Rock, Swap & Dig event in which visitors can chisel away at rock outcrops in search of treasure. The mine will be open 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and admission is free. Visitors can dig for minerals such as rutile and iridescent hematite. Mineral and rock collectors from across the Southeast will have booths for buying, selling and trading, and vendors will provide food and drinks.
