JACKSON, S.C. - Mrs. Linda Jones, 51, of Third St., entered into rest April 22, 2008. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008 at Friendship Baptist Church, Richland Ave., Aiken, S.C. with the Rev. T.C. Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Edgefield, S.C. Mrs. Jones, a native of Yazoo City, Miss., was a 1974 graduate of Mingo Chito Yazoo City High School. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Biology from Mississippi State University and her Master's Degree in System Management from the University of Arkansas. She was a retired Major from the United States Air Force and a Correction Officer with the S.C. Department of Correction, Allendale, S.C. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, Edgefield and an associate member of Friendship Baptist Church, Aiken, where she served on several ministries. Left to cherish her memory are: her husband, Willie Jones; three daughters, Dawn A. Jones, Deidre Jones and Jennifer Jones; her mother, Dorothy (Charles) Moore: father, Robert (Ann) Whitney; a sister, Sharon Whitney; two brothers, Robert Whitney and Cedric Whitney; father-in-law, Solomon Jones; sisters-in-law, Minnie (Charles) Martin, Ruby Jones, Nancy Jones, Loretta (Jeff) Taylor; brother-in-law, Leon (Tykeshia) Jones; a host of other relatives and friends.
