2 arrested after man is shot during Aiken home invasion

Two people have been arrested after an Aiken home invasion during which someone was shot early Saturday.

Robin Maurice Richardson, 27, of Timberlane Road, and Samira Aiysha Duckett, 28, of Lundee Drive, are charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and first-degree burglary, according to an Aiken Department of Public Safety news release.

Police say they responded to a reported home invasion at about 4:20 a.m. in the 1700 block of Barbara Lane.

A man said he had been shot in the arm. He was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital with injuries that didn't appear to be life threatening, the release states.

Authorities were told people fled in a white Isuzu Rodeo, and officers later found a vehicle fitting the description behind apartments on Timberlane Road, according to the report.

Police found the two people who fled and recovered a .380-caliber handgun believed to have been used in the shooting.
