Oh Lord--here we go...
I would like to register in print my opposition to the ongoing U.S. war in Iraq.
I and millions worldwide opposed this war before President George W. Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq more than five years ago. Iraq's neighboring states, including Saudi Arabia, opposed U.S. military intervention in Iraq. The "coalition of the willing" has vanished.
Despite claims that the surge is a success and Iraq has turned a corner, I predict that no amount of U.S. military force or American determination will result in a stable or peaceful Iraq. It doesn't matter if U.S. troops occupy Iraq in substantial numbers for another five years or 15 years -- when U.S. forces are drawn down, Iraq's civil war will re-ignite.
President Bush is asking for another $108 billion in emergency, off-budget funding for the Iraq war. That brings the up-front cost of this war to more than $750 billion. That doesn't count the long-term costs conservatively estimated at more than $3 trillion! The Democratic leadership is set to approve $178 billion to fund the U.S. war in Iraq beyond the 2008 presidential election into early 2009.
There is no military solution to this political war. The Bush administration and Bush's handpicked military commander in Iraq now blame Iran for the U.S. debacle in Iraq. Iran wasn't a factor before Bush broke Iraq. The U.S. cannot fix Iraq. U.S. military force has failed. It is time for a negotiated political solution to this war. The United States must leave Iraq.
John Randolph H. Cain, Avera
Oh Lord--here we go...
Cut and paste, cut and paste.....Opinions as if they were facts...bla bla bla. When will he stop? The only ones who think the war has failed, are the one's who are invested in defeat...... If Civil war will ignite when we leave, why do you insist we leave?
"Iran wasn't a factor before the US broke Iraq"?!!!!!! What the heck was that 1980-1988 war with Iran then? Why were Iranian-backed Shia attacked as often as possible? Huh? You don't research your posts - I thought at least you would research a LETTER!
Oh my word Cain leave it alone....If you are others feel any loyalty for this nation along with unconditional support of our brave men and women fighting and dying then I say "Back off, sit down and hush". The old saying comes to mind "If you can't say anything good and positive then don't say anything at all"....
This buffoonery will be solved when the LTE ends with John Randolf H. Cain, Canada
Is this Deja vu or what. Register in print-as compared to his internet dribble. Note the argument is a defeatist argument. We can't win and it is costing too much money. A better argument is that we have succeeded and it is time to let them have autonomy.
Everybody note, Cain wants to register his opposition to the war. Duly noted Cain, now quit your lying!!!! JCS wants to know the facts about our military (not yours) killing innocent Iraqi's, can you answer him? The coalition of the willing has vanished, LITES AGAIN!!! On a daily basis I see Australians, British, French, and other nations represented over here. I have been here Cain, but you have probably never stepped out of Avera. Who cares what you predict, many people here do not even entertain your "I hate America" rants, blathering, and venom that you spew on a daily basis. Your Democrats have failed to stop the war as promised, and neither candidate will either, and you call it leadership? You are sorely mistaken again, If this is a political war, how has the military failed? If this is a political war, and we are losing, then I would venture to say that the politicians have lost, all of them, both Republicans and Democrats. The military does not fight political wars. They only posted your letter because they knew the hits in the blog world would be tremendous. Now, go back to your blog dominated Augusta Alternative and spill your drivel there.
Why the sour grapes. Whatever has this country done to you Cain?
Poor soul.......
What happened to Bush being a war criminal and the leader of the religious zealot Neocon war party??? You would almost think he was normal reading this LTE.
I think we will leave Iraq, but only when we're good and ready. And when the oil fields have run dry.
The only people who want us to remain in Iraq are either in denial or in Israel.
Sarcasm...tut, tut
Whether I agree with this war or not, or agree with what President Bush does, I still respect the office of the President and I still support our troops that are in Iraq. If we leave Iraq as Cain states, and Obama says he will do if he is elected, we will be leaving thousands of innocent people that want freedom, to a mass slaughter.
It will be taken over by Al Qaeda and the Taliban and will be a mass killing that this world has not seen since Hitler.
LL..When the oil fields have run dry, will our prices come down?
"I would like to register in print my opposition to the ongoing U.S. war in Iraq" ... what a dork. Get a life and/or a hobby Cain, or get out from behind your computer and actually do something.
I can't wait for Cain's editorial entitled:" I have no choice but to leave the U.S." And he can use the same reasoning: America won't change and it is too expensive. Maybe he will move to South America where he can harvest trees and contribute to global warming. He is a liberal tree killer who profits off the killing of innocent trees-worst than these neocon war mongers and oil. Hee,hee. I didn't realize Avera was training Palestinian terrorist to fight Israel, or is that just Cain's farm? Wow you can see his farm on satellite images-hmmmm. Lots of activity I see a warehouse full of Iraqi WMDs he personally confiscated and hid to make Bush look bad. That was before he was embedded with the troops.
Yes we should leave Iraq. The money and lives being spent on this war is ridiculous. I know plenty of ways this country could spend 750 billion dollars. We are in a recession and pretty soon the peso will be worth more than the dollar.
Oh, God, he actually sends LTE's, too? Great job, Cain! You fooled me into reading one of your ridiculous rants, after months of ignoring you! "I would like to register in print my opposition to the ongoing stupidity spewed forth by JRHCain. I would like to point out that he should be sat down in front of a computer with a high-speed Internet connection, along with a stack of every print resource he specifies, and FORCED to produce ONE actual FACT that supports a single one of his stupid assertions. I don't mean the easy ones ('This war has cost XXX dollars.'), I mean the ridiculous ones ('This war is unwinnable.' 'Bush is a war criminal.' 'Bush lied.' 'Petraeus is an administration shill.') Any one of those, but supported by an actual fact, not an assertion in some other lunatic's insane rantings."
I certainly hope Cain is wrong about the outcome. I know he is wrong about the current situation. Things you don't get from your Codee Pink bumper stickers... Now it is news when a bomber blows up some folks in a market. Before the surge, it was a byline. Now we are seeing weeks when less than ten of our troopers die. Before and during the surge, it was much worse. In the beginning, Al Queda was sending in foreigners to Iraq in droves. Now, Al Queda is complaining that the other Muslims aren't supporting them... Hmm... Sounds like something is going in our direction. My brother just completed his second tour. Don't think there is Iranian support? Talk to the folks that are there, instead of your Hate America Blogger Buddies. On that note... Be Safe, RJH. I'll see you in a few months.
The Mid-East has been at war with each other for centuries; it is a way of life for them. If the citizens who live there wish to continue perpetuating the violence, there is NO nation that will change their mind, let alone change their ways. We do not need to be a part of that mindset--and we should never have gone into Iraq in the first place. Bush hoped to conquer and take possession of the oil, but he failed to understand that no Mid-East country would allow that to happen. I am supportive of our troops, but certainly do not support the Bush adminsistration.
The way this man goes on I think he writes the oppositions propaganda! If he doesn't write it then he niavely believes every word of it!
My good neoCon friend Gen. Petraeus tell me that Cain is being investigated as a terroristic threat to the Bush regime. Cain wants "regime change" and to jail or execute all the neocon republicans for war crimes starting with Bush and then the blood thirsty Zionist christians. I tried to tell him that he is harmless but Petraeus tells me he is a member of several anti-american communistic, draft dodging, dope smoking organizations. I was aghast to learn of such events and will still defend Cain. Hee,hee, hee. I think it is time to leave Iraq-heads held high with success of regime change, elections, and a govt. The costs were too high but it is done. Now let's kill Osama bin Laden and strike the heart of terrorist muslims. Sorry for the grief Cain. The LTE was well-written (unlike your usual rhetoric) and you displayed restraint with a simple message:there is no military solution to this political war (I would say that is on the mark).
I think Cain should personally go over there and fix what ails us! I'm sure the jihadists will cooperate with him fully if he can keep his head about him!
robbie, I am on a plane next week coming home, then hanging it up after 20.
Total agreement--"there is no military solution to this war." Cain thank you for expressing your opinion. A true American is not caught up in the dogma of straight party line thinking. A true American expresses his/her position without slandering and degrading the opposition.
RJH, So is my brother. Welcome home. You'll love the weather. Thanks for your 20 years of service and sacrifice. Something the author of this LTE will hopefully understand some day.
Insane Cain.
