AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Jack D. Salva, husband of Mrs. Hazel M. Salva entered into rest on Thursday evening April 17, 2008 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home-Columbia Road Chapel. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be accorded by the Ceremonial detachment of Fort Gordon. Mr. Salva was a retired Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Army with service to his country during the Vietnam conflict. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and was a Bronze Star recipient for his bravery . After his retirement from the military, he later was employed with the Augusta National Golf Club from where he later retired again. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of D.A.V. Chapter 10. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife ; daughters Lisa Campbell and Donna Salva; sons Jimmy Chappelear and Nathan Salva; sisters Barbara Salva, Toni Coogan, Patti Cox, Kathy Salva and Nancy Dutton all of Millville, NJ; grandchildren Crystal Campbell Colton Pace, Logan Salva, Skylar Chappelear, Brooklynn Salva; great-granddaughter Ansley Walker. The family wishes to express a special thank you to, Joe and Tammy Walker . The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Monday evening at Elliott Sons Funeral Home- Columbia Road Chapel.
