AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Friday, April 18, 2008, at Kentwood Nursing Home, Miss Martha Sara Elkins, 87, of Augusta. Miss Elkins was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was retired as office manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after 42 years. Miss Elkins was a member of Mann Memorial United Methodist Church where she was in the Gleaners Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She served as a volunteer for the Veterans from Lynwood Hospital. Family members include her cousins: Patrick Dorn and Betty Miller of Columbia, SC, Edna Boney and Roy Bussey of Spartanburg, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents: J.H. Elkins and Martha Dorn Elkins and her sisters: Corinne Elkins and Elizabeth Henderson. A Funeral Service will be held at Mann Memorial United Methodist Church, Monday, April 21, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Edward Nelson and Rev. C.W. Edwards, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Gleaners Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, 500 Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA 30030.
