Rachel Bland Lamarre (JOHNSTON, S.C.)

JOHNSTON, S.C. - Graveside services for Mrs. Rachel Bland Lamarre, age 88, will be held Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 3 pm at Mt of Olives Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Bland Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 1:30 - 2:30 prior to the service. Memorials may be made to The Martha Bland Fund, Johnston First Baptist Church, 700 Church Street, Johnston, SC 29832. Mrs. Lamarre, a native of Johnston, died Friday, April 18, 2008. She was a daughter of Avory and Martha Watson Bland. Mrs. Lamarre was a graduate of Winthrop College and was a retired school teacher having taught in the public schools of Edgefield County. She was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church and the Frances West Circle. Survivors include a daughter: Lynn L. Grady, Mt Pleasant; son: Richard L. Lamarre (Linda), Evans, Ga; granddaughters: Angela L. Winkler (Mark); Martha L. Smith (James) and three great grandchildren: Skye Smith and Christian and Nathan Winkler.
