BARTOW, Ga. - Mr. Keith Lionel Stewart, age 82, of Hwy 24 West, entered into rest on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Medical College of Georgia after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Sunday, April 20, 2008, in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews; Bill Black, Riley Stavely, Sonny Stavely, Robert Stavely, Tony Stavely, Terry Garrett, Mark Gilvin, and David Gilvin. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Louisville First Baptist Church and members of the Louisville Lions Club. Mr. Stewart, a son of the late Clyde and Golda Stewart, was a native of Silina, Kansas, where he finished high school and played the trumpet in the band. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Kansas State University, where he was a member of Beta Kappa, and received his Masters in Business Administration at Denver University in Denver, Colorado. He went to work for Continental Can Group, Inc., as the Southeastern Regional Auditor in 1948 and retired in 1982 after 34 years. He was a member of the Institute Auditors, Inc., Continental Can Veteran's Club, Pioneer CCC Club, and the Lions Club where he served as president and as secretary and was chosen as Lion of the Year in 1989-1990. He was a member and of Louisville First Baptist Church and the Ingles Coffee Table Club. Mr. Stewart was a people person. He was a loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was loved and respected by many. He always had a smile and a good word for everyone. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Paulene S. Stewart of Bartow, daughters: Joyce Poole Joyner (Mays) of Fayetteville and Linda Poole Bledsoe (Horace) of Aiken, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00pm to 8:00pm Saturday, April 19, 2008. In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to the Louisville First Baptist Church Building Fund 101 E. 9th St. Louisville, GA 30434.
