Mary Helen Best (EASTMAN, Ga.)

EASTMAN, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Helen Atwell Best, age 87, of Eastman, formerly of Augusta, died Friday, April 18, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 21, in Southerland Funeral Chapel, Eastman, with graveside services at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Ways Baptist Church Cemetery, Stellaville. Mrs. Best, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Augusta, a retired Office Manager for McDonald Builders, Inc. and widow of John. H. Best. Survivors: daughter, Angela Bryant Walker (GS); three sons, Wade A. Bryant, Don Bryant (Mary) and Douglas Bryant (Vickie); sister, Martha Lukemire; brother, WT Atwell; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to The Children's Ministry of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Grovetown, GA. The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday. Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman has charge of arrangements.
