AUGUSTA, Ga. - Leola P. Baker, born September 27, 1910, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Amera Nursing Home. Mrs. Baker was a Richmond County School System Retiree. Leola leaves to cherish her memories one son, John R. Fisher (Raymond); four grandchildren, Donna (Warren) Atherton, Derek Fisher, both of Boston, Mass, John (Manuell) Fisher, Jr. of New York, and Alona Fisher of Holly Hill, S.C.; three great-grands; one sister-in- law, Cora Bell Pryor; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and sorrowing friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday from Historical Spirit Creek Baptist Church, 11 a.m., with Rev. Glasper Nero officiating. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Chapel of Peoples Funeral Home. Peoples Funeral Home, 723 Walton Way.
