AUGUSTA, Ga. - On Friday April 11, 1008 Deacon James Albert White, 92 of Sumac Dr. entered into rest at Trinity Hospital, Augusta GA. Deacon James Albert White was born in Burke county, Georgia on December 22, 1915. He was the son of Azaline More White and Albert White. He received his formal education from the Burke County School System. James was joined in holy matrimony to his childhood sweetheart, Daisy Way, on November 18, 1934. to this union four children were born. He strived to rear his children in a God fearing manner. James accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of 19 and became a member of the Grays Grove Baptist church. He worked faithfully and loved serving in every capacity needed. In 1941 he was ordained to serve as a deacon and continued his faithful service to God and his church until his death. He served as Chairman of the Deacon Board for over 65 years. He delighted in singing the church history son; "Stand Together". His Christian mission was to keep the church family together. James retired from Babcox and Wilcox company and Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church. He received many acclamations and outstanding work performance awards. James was preceded in death by his oldest son Robert Lee White and two brothers, Willie White and Jonathan Sills. Home Going service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at the Antioch Rock Creek Baptist Church, Waynesboro. GA. Interment will be at the Grays Grove Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Friday evening April 18, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. The funeral procession will leave the residence at 10:30 A.M. Survivors include; a devoted wife of 72 years, Daisy White; Two daughters, Rubye (Warren) Evans, Dover Delaware, Norma B. (Henry) Davis, Augusta Georgia. One son, James T. White, Augusta, Georgia; Six sisters, Callie Walker, Louise sills, Queen Esther Bradley, Liza Meriweather, Queenie Moore and Laura Joe Moore; One brother, Alford Moore; One brother-in-law, Enoch Way; One sister-in-law, Corrine Buggs; a devoted niece and nephew, Olivia B.
