AUGUSTA, Ga. - Beatrice McLaughlin, age 63, of Augusta, died April 14, 2008. A native of Crawford, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Lewis Howard, Jr. and the late Ruby Mae McLaughlin. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James R. McLaughlin and Jessie J. Howard. She was a retired health service technician and a Staff Sargent in the United States Army National Guard Reserves. Although she obtained many honors and much recognition, she will be mostly remembered for her friendly and loving ways. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Lynn Kendrick (Gary); two grandchildren, Shalyn and Garyson Kendrick; four brothers, Bill McLaughlin (Melvie), Walter Mark McLaughlin (Maxine), Lewis Edward Howard (Mamie), Willie Frank Howard; eight sisters, Helen McLaughlin, Birdie Daniels (James), Hattie Sanders (Willie Ed), Rosa Cade, Dorothy Stephens, Betty Burgess, Helen and Charlotte Howard; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A home going celebration and remembrance of life will be held Saturday, April 19th at 2 p.m., Thankful Baptist Church in Stephens, Ga. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the home of her sisters, Helen McLaughlin, at 229 W First St., Crawford, GA. Mack and Payne is in charge of all funeral services.
