BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. - Charles Lewis Gates, 60, of Blountville, passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at his home. Mr. Gates was born July 2, 1947 in Raleigh County, WVA, the son of Howard and Gertrude Gates. He has resided in Blountville for the past 22 years. He was employed as a Senior Environmental Engineer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Sims and Linda Optman. Survivors include his sons, Michael Gates and his wife Patricia of Acworth, GA, Stephen Gates and his wife Brandie of Augusta; grandsons, Scott Gates and Lucas Gates; one brother, Bill Gates of Florida; the mother of his children, Juanita Gates, Athens, GA and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at Belleview Memorial Gardens, Monday, April 14, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Robert Lehn officiating.
