AP keeps spewing its socialist line

  • Follow Letters

After the Associated Press's many praises of socialism and communism, and its attacks on Republican George W. Bush, it's not hard to see that AP is replacing the conservative majority's choice with its own: one-world socialism.

They do this by approving all Democrats, who as liberals are the closet to socialism in a democracy, and denouncing all Republicans, who want lower taxes (the opposite of high-tax socialism) and a strong military, which could defeat the press's beloved communism.

This love of socialism by AP is seen in the Democrat candidates that they fawn over: Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, exceedingly liberal Democrats who rank 16th and first, respectively, in Senate liberal voting.

Clinton has ties to socialism, with her campaign comment that she has so many programs planned that America won't be able to afford them. She also wrote her college thesis praising the works of socialist radical Saul Alinsky, and served as a legal intern in the office of the attorney for the Communist Party USA. Those facts are too tough for AP.

As reported March 19 on Hannity and Colmes on Fox News, the church Obama and his family have been attending for 20 years preaches "liberation theology." Ken Blackwell, a black former secretary of state from Ohio, said, "Liberation theology has, as its (tenet), socialism as its economic underpinning. It believes that government, not the individual, is primary."

Fox News broke the story, which forced AP to come out with the "news," which was in the form of defending Obama and never mentioning the socialism aspect of his church, which AP was trying to slip past readers.

So, we're one TV network away from information oblivion. That should calm you down seven months before the election.

Tom Hunter, Augusta

Liberals are now recast as

Liberals are now recast as socialists. It is FAR more accurate to say FOXNews is synonymous with FASCIST NEWS. Yesterday right wingnuts made an issue that Obama preferred Orange Juice when offered coffee by a restaurateur. This was portrayed as somehow "offensive". The radical right is in fact desperate. They have a clearly inconsistent candidate in John McCain. Wingnuts are reduced to complaining that Obama posters are done in the same art style as Che Guevara posters. They also found a Cuban flag brought into an Obama campaign office by some local worker. Credit FOXNews with that triumph of investigative journalism! Blogger Atrios observed: "Joking aside, if Obama is the nominee by November a substantial portion of wingnuttia will assert that Obama is, actually, a terrorist. Not just a terrorist sympathizer, a supporter of terrorists, or looks like a terrorist, but is an actual capital 'T' terrorist. And those of us in the saner zones of reality will scratch our heads & ponder that perennial question in American politics: are they stupid or are they lying?" Put letter writer Tom Hunter in the stupid category. AP, CNN, & NY Times are all part of U.S. Establishment corporate media

While reading "The Manifesto"

While reading "The Manifesto" you learn that the first two steps in taking over a country is to gain control of the schools and entertainment industry, then move into the realm of national politics. With the dumbing down of America being the most successful Democrat program and the endless portrayal of socialism as the nirvana of cultures by television and the press, it's no wonder the Democrat party has adopted the Manifesto as its platform. The socialist Hillary and the marxist B.O. are naturals for this years choice for president. The AP, made up almost entirely of left wing writers, has played a very large role in the endless drumbeat toward socialism.

You know, it is good to be

You know, it is good to be able to take a step back and look at my own stupidity, but far more funnier if I see someone else doing it more than I ever could. You think our news is going to calm us down??? That is but laughable. I don't care for any candidates who are up for election due to the fact that none of them are able to handle OR fit to be in the White House.

Typically liberals want to

Typically liberals want to take money in for the government, then redistribute it as they see fit in what they call government entitlements. That is pretty much a socialist society, cradle to grave entitlements given out by the government (Hillary's $5,000 baby credit). Both Hillary and BO promise so many programs they will enact, but do not back up how to pay for them (they are afraid to say TAX INCREASE), how else will they be paid for but to take money from one group and give it to another. She wants to "seize" oil company profits, basically stealing from investors, anyone that has a mutual fund, IRA, 401K, etc. HMMM, sounds like another hidden tax. SEIZE the profits, how much government control can one stand without crying foul. The left and people like Cain will back BO and Hillary until they are in office and the damage is even greater when they raise taxes, seize profits, and cripple the economy with their socialistic "the government knows how to spend your money better than you do" attitude. Pull you head out of the sand, the government CANNOT do anything efficiently, and the left wants to hand over and surrender individuals rights to the socialist left.

Democrat Bill Clinton

Democrat Bill Clinton balanced the budget. Republican George W. Bush's administration has piled up massive deficits both on and off budget and has borrowed more money that all of the previous Presidents combined! The national debt has more than doubled under Republican George W. Bush, but lunatic wingnuts rant on about the "socialist" Democrats! They need to take a look at corporate welfare and war profiteering under the Bush/Cheney spend-and-borrow war regime. Reality, RJH, check into it!

"When fascism comes to

"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross", attributed to Sinclair Lewis, America's first Nobel Laureate in Literature. He authored "It Can't Happen Here," in 1935, depicting the election of a fascist president. Right wing reactionaries enjoy wrongly depicting progressives and even moderates as Democrats and socialists. They need to examine the actions of the current administration which has usurped power from the other Constitutional branches, notably the Congress, and concentrated it in the fictitious "strong executive" which does not exist in the Constitution. Read the Bill of Rights, and try to explain the President's reaction in a meeting on December 9, 2005 when the constitutionality of provisions of the Patriot Act were questioned: "Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It's just a g-d- piece of paper!" That is the President's reality, and it is frightening that 28% of Americans still believe he is credible as a leader.

As I told one lady, "If you don't vote, you can't kvetch," and "If you do vote but still kvetch, it's time to do something about it." Like run for public office. So, Mr. Cain, since you have decidely strong opinions (as is absolutely your God-given right) about how the current administration is handling or mishandling our nation, by all means run for office and when you win you can repair it all. Or at least set it up so that your successors can fix things further. I am not being sarcastic. I am being perfectly serious. Talk is cheap, action takes courage and resolve. And if anyone asks, "Well, why don't YOU do it?" my answer is simple: "I am not kvetching."

Cain, the ONLY reason you and

Cain, the ONLY reason you and your leftist/socialist ilk don't like Fox News is that they do a damn good job of investigating and exposing the likes of Hitlery and Osama for who they really are vice the phony veneer they wear that has been pretty much torn away by Fox and some news agencies once Fox opened the door. Name one program on any of the MSM channels that have political opposites like Hannity and Colmes (the others stack the deck against a right wing guest with more libs) and invite the likes of Jermiah Wright, Al Charlatan et al to come on their program. O'Reilly same thing-investigate and report and invite even those he doesn't agree with on for a good debate. The DIMs would not debate on Fox as they didn't want the tough questions that would have been posed by Brit Hume or Neil Cavuto or even Hannity.. Show me that with Chris (mad dog-froths at the mouth) Mathews, PMSNBC, National Propaganda Radio (NPR), et al that you hang out listening to because they feed you your daily ration of leftist pablum and koolaid. If there has ever been any one on here dumb as a rock beside justus4, Shivas and hypcrap, it is YOU.

accuracyplease, projection is a trait of the socialist left.(democratic underground is a poor source of information) It happens everyday in the coordinated efforts of the far left press. When a news show that gives both sides of a story comes on, the radical left refers to it as right wing because it gives a point of view other then the far left. Or, as the buffoons like to do, they compare opinion shows with news shows. How informed they appear! Of course, when preaching to the choir, (see RCRs post) they get total agreement. How informed they are! (imagine informed people snickering here)

Oh, Tom! It's not that your "message" is whacko--it is--but your timing! Masters Week, so all the stereotypes held by visitors--that outside the National, Augusta is home mostly to right-wing kooks--are reinforced in the newspaper! We know you, Tom, you're our slightly daft uncle who wanders around muttering about socialists and commies. We understand. It's just a little embarrassing when you get out of the house at the wrong time. You're a village idiot, but you're our village idiot, our local joke. Unfortunately, you're not the kind of humor that plays well to a general audience. So please, Tom, next time wait until it's just "family" around. Meanwhile, go back in the house, take your lithium, and turn on Fox News....

From Merriam Webster

From Merriam Webster Dictionary. Not all that hard to locate and interpret:
Pronunciation:
\prə-ˈgre-siv\
Function:
adjective
Date:
circa 1612

1 a: of, relating to, or characterized by progress b: making use of or interested in new ideas, findings, or opportunities c: of, relating to, or constituting an educational theory marked by emphasis on the individual child, informality of classroom procedure, and encouragement of self-expression. I don't find "socialist, hedonist and anarchist " or anything approximating those terms as a synonym.

I was not talking about the

I was not talking about the deficit, Cain, I was talking about socialism where taxes increase and money is redistributed in the form of entitlements that are typically associated with a socialistic society. Do not confuse the two, and if you would read and try to understand what other people are trying to say before you start spewing your opinions you just might be able to learn and understand what others are trying to say. Instead you go on the offensive and look foolish, you seem to have quite a reputation for that. That is reality back at you Cain, check into it, ponder it, then type.

Cain: You nailed it on your first post. HA! You are SO right about FOX! They are attempting to assault Obama on everything EXCEPT the issues. Conservatives are always spouting about "the arena of ideas", but put an African-America in the mix and watch the sparks. Fox News, like most conservative think Americans are stupid and will believe their distortions. Fortunately, the country is made up of creative minds and understand the media's mission. Yes, they do have a following, but when faced with crisis mode (economy & war melt down), Americans have historically elected a president with a vision to carry the nation through difficult times.

I love it when the socialist

I love it when the socialist left cries foul.( or fowl when referring to national defense) accuracyplease, the dictionary also gives a different definition of liberal then the one used in every day discussion. Look how long it took your ilk to get the meaning of the word gay changed. In todays culture, progressive is code for socialist, communist, fascist, marxist and any combination there of. The big tent word is Democrat. No honest person would use progressive when they meant Democratic. PC terminology is just another way to try to hide the truth. It only works on the weak minded, apparently.

Redistribution of wealth

Redistribution of wealth through privatization of war has worked well for Halliburton, KBR, DynCorp, Titan, CACI, Triple Canopy, and a plethora of "private defense firms" that feed at the govt trough often with no bid contracts. Dick Cheney got a $20 million golden parachute from Halliburton - every cent of Halliburton's income is from govt contracts AFAIK. Corporate welfare and defense contractor fraud is a fixture of The Establishment. Nick Turse's new book "The Complex: How the Military Invades Our Everyday Lives" maintains that Pentagon elites and high government officials are tee-ing off at taxpayer expense at hundreds of courses all over the planet. patriciathomas, fascism has its provenance on the right. George W. Bush is the biggest spender on new govt entitlement programs since LBJ. Try to rationalize that RJH.
