AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Medical College of Georgia, Mrs. Margaret Virginia Diggs of Kings Grant Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 14, 2008 at 12:00 noon from Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 1260 Wrightsboro Road with Pastor Clyde Hill Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Diggs was a native of Augusta and a graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School Class of 1956. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a long time dedicated member of the E. A. Moss Gospel Choir and later joined the Senior Choir. She was also a member September Birth Month Club. Mrs. Diggs love for children was fulfilled when she joined the staff of Tabernacle Child Development Center, where she spent nearly 31 years as a pre-school teacher. Mrs. Diggs found extreme joy in attending all of her children's events whether sporting events or musical recitals over the years. She was an avid football and basketball fan and loved to watch her son, Bubba during his years as a collegiate football player. Survivors are her husband, Joseph Diggs, Sr., Augusta; two daughters, Beverly Berry, Duluth, GA and Jocelyn Diggs, Lawrenceville, GA; two sons, Joseph "Bubba" (Nadine) Diggs, North Augusta, SC, William Diggs, Miami, FL; her future son-in-law, Martin Hayes, Lawrenceville, GA; five grandchildren, Drew Diggs, Pembroke Pines, FL, Gourgous Berry, Duluth, GA, Dominique Diggs, Pembroke Pines, FL, Jazmine and Jada Diggs, North Augusta, SC; one brother, Marvin (Harriett) Curry, Augusta; one sister, Patricia Powe, El Paso, TX; a long time friend, Doris Isom, Augusta; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, relatives and loyal friends.
