AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. William L. Horner, 64, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 3:30 PM at Westover Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. J. Andrew Menger officiating. Mr. Horner was an Augusta native who attended the Academy of Richmond County. He went on to graduate from the University of Georgia, where he was a member of Chi Phi fraternity. He worked for the Georgia Railroad Bank, before becoming a representative for BP Oil Company. He also worked at American Banking in Jacksonville, Florida. Survivors include his sister, Deborah Lawhorne of Augusta, GA, three sons, William L. Horner, Jr. of Laurens, SC, Robert E. Horner of Columbia, SC, and Andrew Scott Horner of Laurens, SC, a daughter, Kimberly Carpenter of Orlando, FL, two nephews, Matthew Thomas Lawhorne and Thomas Jefferson Horner IV of Augusta, GA, one niece, Kathleen Horner Bottomley, and six grandchildren. School bus accident causes minor injuries

A Richmond County school bus with seven special education students on board was involved in an accident that resulted in minor injuries, district spokesman Louis Svehla said.
