Son is killed in effort to save his mother
DECATUR --- Police in Decatur say a man was shot and killed while trying to keep his mother from being robbed.
DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish says the owner of a theater was leaving the business about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday when she was approached by a gunman who demanded her purse. Police say the woman's son, Mac Mayer, 36, stepped in and was shot by the suspect, who is still being sought.
Police probe double suicide of couple
BRUNSWICK --- Police are investigating the apparent double suicide of a woman and her husband, who was wanted in connection with a Florida armed robbery.
Police say 51-year-old Ronald Isaac Flannery and 52-year-old Judy Lee Flannery were found dead in a Brunswick, Ga., motel Wednesday.
Georgia officials declined to say how the couple died. But police from Fernandina Beach, Fla., where Mr. Flannery was wanted, said it appears the couple committed suicide together.
Fernandina Beach police say the man robbed a pharmacy at gunpoint Friday. Authorities are searching the motel room for evidence linking him to the crime.

The Flannery's Were my family and just to set the record stright. He never pulled a gun there for he did not rob them at gunpoint. And as for MyOpinion2 You have absulotly no heart what so ever. Why dont you consider the way my family feels before you make a snide comment. yes i agree they had problems but does that give you the right to judge them are you God? If so then please tell me why you took my Family members away from me like this if you are God. Unless you in fact are God you have no right to judge anyone. My family is still suffering from this lost. And we do not apprecaite you makeing these comments about people you have never met and do not know. You are a heartless human. find something else to do then to make comments about people you dont know.
