Teen is charged with kidnapping of infant
Police have charged a 16-year-old girl with kidnapping in the taking of a 4-month-old child from an Augusta couple late Wednesday.
The girl, who was acquainted with the couple, originally told police that an unknown man wearing a black hoodie grabbed the child while she was outside a home in the 500 block of Hines Street, according to a Richmond County Sheriff's Office report.
After questioning the girl, it was determined that she took the baby to the home of a man she knew in the 1100 block of Anderson Avenue, the report stated. The man told police that the girl told him it was her baby and that it had been born in November.
She then put the baby on a chair in the home and fled when the man left the room to use the telephone, the report said.
The girl has also been charged with giving a false statement to police. She was taken to the Richmond County Youth Detention Center.
The baby was returned to its parents unharmed.

What about kidnapping?
The article stated in the first sentence that she'd been charged with kidnapping.
That's life in the United States crackerjack. Vote Democrat! (PC over truth)
The couple gave her the baby to watch. Is the the Randy Hall that Austin hated so much that he used his show to try to convince people not to re-elect him? I guess that President Bush begged to differ from Austin. Other than running his mouth, why don't Austin run for office?
Crackerjack, truth has it there are a lot of cases that goes unmentioned and yes RACE plays a big part in all media coverage! Ask yourself this, "What have I done lately to close the race gap?"
POFWE, what in the hell does race have to do with anything I said? By the way for you POFWE, better known as the Grand Wizzard of the KKK, to say anything about anyone being a racist is just too, too funny.
Heya gang how be everyone this beautiful morning!
Thanks for the link Cracker Jack! I am a little PO'd that things like this won't make mainstream media, but the Duke case was huge. It is like the media wants to defame the white character; rather than just showing news equally. Augusta Chronicle not included, becuase they do quite well at showing all the news in a different bias by showing more photos of black criminals over white.
crackerjack I read about those murders once or twice right after it happened and heard nothing after that.
I'm not sure what the reason for bringing that case up, but it did make National headlines...I saw it on the local news in LA when it happened. I don't think it gained the attention that some of you would like because no one argued the fact that these criminals are guitly and deserve the chair. I don't think there is any person, black or white, that want to defend such brutal acts. I, as a black man, don't want to see them on the streets any more than the white guy who killed the hiker in Atlanta and stated in court that he is a "sociopath". Evil is evil and I beleive in the death penalty!
DOUBLE D, when are you going to stop being a victim? Everything to you is white this black that. Why did the black child get more ice cream than the white child....at stupid.
Congratulations Randy!!!
I found out Randy Hall was chosen last night. Best thing that happened all day! Congratulations!
js_ee I believe in the death penalty too.
I believe in an eye for an eye, cut off their you know whats, have them gang raped, then kill em.
