George Bush is the worst president since Harding, maybe the worst ever, and he's to blame for the problems this country is having now -- but you idiots keep blaming the Democrats! REMEMBER THIS - FOR THE FIRST SIX YEARS OF HIS ADMINISTRATION, THE CONGRESS HAD A REPUBLICAN MAJORITY, AND BUSH SIGNED EVERY SINGLE BILL THEY SENT HIM -- NOT A SINGLE VETO! Unfortunately mud is slung in this letter before a plea for stopping the slinging of mud, kind of contradictory. However, the last few words should be heeded, that we work together, support the nation in the challenges that we have ahead of us, and we must all do our part. Unfortunately there are few that have truly sacrificed, the military and their families first and foremost. Ask yourself what you have advantages and benefits you have received by being a citizen of this great country and what price have you personally paid. For those that will bash this country, that is what what makes this country great, you always have the FREEDOM to leave.

Ms Grigsby, imbedded reporters have told the real story of what is going on in Iraq right along. When they get back to the States, their more delicate cohorts rewrite the reports and that is what is published. Unfortunately, most liberals are headline readers and the "adjusted" news is all they have to go by. This system of reporting is intended to split the nation so as to give the socialist left an opportunity to gain more power in DC. This smart and effective plan was laid out in a book called "The Manifesto" about 160 years ago. The dumbing down of government schools is also part of this plan. If you look at the socialist Democrat party message and those that vote for it, you'll see just how effective the plan is. Stand by for much more of the same, not much room for working together unless Americans are willing to capitulate to the teachings of Marx.

The party does not matter and, if party affiliation continues to guide policy, the government will continue to breakdown. America has proven her inability to heed historical facts and thus, remains on the wrong track, due to poor elected leaders. Fact is, all presidents referenced in the article were white men and that fact is never mentioned. Don't avoid that fact with a bunch excuses about political correctness. Facts are facts. And our FIRST president warned about political parties and possible dangers. Again, the country failed to listen.

The Iraqi war is the story of a President who is willing to sacrafice thousands of lives in order to be perceived as "tough." The Vietnam war was certainly unjustified, and our loss in Vietnam has proven that the entire world was not a line of dominoes wating to be pushed over by communism. Just like the world is not going to be taken over by extreme Islam if we do the right thing and leave Iraq to it's own people.

The letter writer is partiall right, BUT, Richard Nixon and Dwight Eisenhower sent the 1st troops to Vietnam...Mr Nixon got a lot of political mileage from bringing the remainders back. This was before the job was finished, but, Obama and Clinton would have done MUCH worse!!

Oh goodness sometimes I just plain out get tired of the rehortic folks....Point I am trying to make is that stuff happens, times are rough for most Americans and then times will get better....That is just the way it is in this country when the politcians have their way and then want more all at the expense of the 'run-of-the mill' hardworking citizen....

Bin Laden had a problem with the Saudi King not accepting help from him and his many armies he had trained in the middle east and northern Africa. Instead the king accepted the help from the US. When will we get the facts straight.

They were trained in all of this "internal religious politics" before they were sent to Iraq. The KURDS have the oil. The TURKS hate the KURDS and want the oil. While I applaud your enthusiasm for the Republican party, I have to disagree with you. The Vietnam War began when we armed the French after WWII to re-occupy Indochina. I could go on about all of the other wars, but it is pointless. One can point the finger at the Clinton Admin for the the problems approaching 911, but the problems with our intelligence gathering began way before him. There were many things he did wrong, and I won't vote for Hillary unless Osama Bin Laden wins the Republican Nomination. I am all for blaming Bill for all of our problems, but it does not fix anything. Fact is, we invaded. Our planning was faulty and now Iraq is broke. The only thing the two parties are fighting over is, do we stick around to help clean up the mess, or leave it... I say stick around and fix it. We all get to help make that decision in NOV.

One only has to listen to the call-ins on CSPAN each morning to hear the absolute ignorance of whom I can only perceive to be DIMocRATS bashing President Bush and parroting what they read in the MSM headlines and such leftist blogs as the Dailykook, Media Matters, and even the Huffington Post, etc. One woman raved on about how GW Bush should be impeached but when asked what he should be impeached for (grounds for impeachment) , as usual she couldn't give any specifics. Another DIM claiming to be a Republican was calling for impeachment for "war crimes". Typical of the left.

Shivas, what was "unjustified" by the Vietnam war? No domino effect in SEA? What about Pol Pot and the killing fields in Cambodia under his Khemer Rouge and the hundreds of thousands of South Vietnamese murdered by the North after we deserted the South? Who got us into that war -JF Kennedy, Who csused the deaths of over 50,000 of our troops because he did not allow the mlitary to do the fighting-LBJ. As usual, you have your head where the sun don't shine, but that's typically where it stays.

Deekster, I guess Korea was about "economics and power"? Seems the North invaded the South and we were obliged under the UN Chartr to defend the South. Vietnam was for "economics and power"? what was economically beneficial in that war? What is the use of being a "power" if you aren't going to use it properly which was the case in Vietnam. I guess we should have ignored the attack on Pearl Harbor and the declaration of war against us by Hitler because of "economics" and at the time, we did NOT have the power. Desert storm was indeed about economics-world economics that depends on Kuwaiti and Saudi oil. Iraq under SH was a menace to peace in that area and the world according to ALL available intelligence (though incorrect) and the DIMs before Bush. You leftists can't re-write history no matter how hard and often you try.

Sigo...it's very easy, look up your history. The 1st American soldier died in Vietnam in 1945 before the war started. The US sent in forces to train the South Vietnamese in 1956 and in 1959 Major Dale R. Buis and Master Sargeant Chester M. Ovnand became the first Americans to die in the Vietnam War when guerrillas strike at Bienhoa. 1959...a year before Kennedy was elected. Eisenhower was president and Nixon was his VP. And by the way...who was President in 1991 during the first Gulf War? I could have sworn it was Papa Bush. And if it was caused by his predecessor, that would also have been Reagan. And Grenada in 1983? Wasn't that Reagan's big war? Really, it sounds like this guy is not only trying to blame every American war on Democrats but he's also rewriting history to do so.

I still want to know where the oil has gone. Cheney assured us that this war would virtually pay for itself from the oil revenues. Now, not only is the war not paying for itself, costing us trillions of dollars, but our gas prices are above $3 a gallon, and there's not a peep from anyone about Iraq's oil. Hello?

I'm still learning southern vernacular but I always thought the expressions were "knuckle down" or "buckle up" depending on your point, if any.

Ms. Grigsby, your grasp of history is as shallow as the premise of your letter. I suppose you'd blame Ben Franklin if your neighborhood ever has a power failure, that ridiculous old kite-flying Democrat.

What the letter lacks in factual accuracy it makes up for in entertainment value. She writes like she's one of those backwoods conspiracy theorists. I'd love to hear her take on Israel, UFOs, Freemasons, etc. I bet she's been abducted by aliens who were also Democrats on their home planet.

Presumably the job will be "done" in Iraq when Bush gets bored and moves on to Iran.

There are some good public and college libraries in this area with lots of books about America's wars. Books are still more reliable than Internet articles or hearsay. As for this Iraq thing, sorry, Ma'am, but Bush-Cheney started it. Now they can't get it done, because nobody knows what "it" is.

Bill Clinton knows what "it" is, all of it's definitions. Just ask him.
