Employee charged in jewelry theft

MARIETTA --- Police say a jewelry store worker is facing charges in two counties in the theft of $1.2 million in merchandise from her employer.

Police say 30-year-old Sara Lane Tolar has been charged on multiple counts of theft after she tried to sell jewelry from the Shane Company store in Fulton County at another jewelry store in Cobb County. Police received a tip from her boss after a year-end audit uncovered the missing inventory. Police say Ms. Tolar admitted to taking the jewelry over a five-month period.

Shooting at officer yields jail time

A Floyd County judge sentenced 23-year-old Joshua Chance Morrow to 25 years in jail and 10 years probation after he pleaded guilty to attacking Officer Stanley Wofford. The two men should have been given life without parole....That might send a message to those who don't give a flying flip if they kill an officer or cripple them. It has been proven that anyone who so readily shoots an officer will have no trouble at all pulling the trigger on anyone....

Now there's a judge who knows how to sentence a criminal.
