Tommie Jones (JACKSON, S.C.)

JACKSON, S.C. - Deacon Tommie Jones, of Jackson Hwy., entered into rest Saturday, April 5, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 12 noon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Jackson, S.C., with Rev. Raiford Roundtree officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was a native of Kathwood, S.C., a member and Deacon of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, retired from the Augusta Transit, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a Veteran of the United States Army. Survivors are his wife, Margaret Jones, Jackson, S.C.; one son, Rev. Mike Jones, Jackson, S.C.; four daughters, Shirlene (Harold) Rhoney, Beech Island, S.C., Gertrude (Esau) Hankerson, Aiken, S.C., Helen Williams, Beech Island, S.C., Terrie Jones, Jackson, S.C.; twelve grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
