'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' Special
'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street'

RELEASED: April 1 (on DVD)

MY THOUGHTS: A singing, murdering barber. Crazy, but it works, especially with director Tim Burton at the helm. He's known for his dark, offbeat movies, and he was practically born to direct this film. It's based on the musical written by Stephen Sondheim, who is known for his dark offbeat musicals.

Final Verdict: A+

'Horton Hears a Who!'

RELEASED: March 14 (in theaters

MY THOUGHTS: In this animated comedy, Horton (voiced by Jim Carrey), a whimsical elephant, finds a flower with a speck on it and hears something from it. He tries to talk back to it, and finds out that there is a town, Whoville, on the speck.

This film was much better than I thought it was going to be, and even though it is marketed to young children, it is a great film for all ages. It reminds us that "A person is a person, no matter how small."

Grade: A+

-- John Klement
