CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Entered into rest Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the VA Medical Center, Mr. Carl H. Holden, 86, formerly of Clarks Hill, SC. Mr. Holden was a native of Lodi, IN. He was retired from the US Army as a Military Policeman. He was a Veteran of WWII where he was awarded the Silver Star for bravery in battle. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Family members include his son: William "Bill" Holden of Charlotte; daughters: Celia Gwinn of Jacksonville, FL, Barbara Key of Augusta, Carol Stephenson of Augusta; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Holden was preceded in death by his wife Elfriede "Elfie" Holden and daughter: Doris E. Holden. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full Military Honors. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1105 Furys Lane, Suite D., Augusta, GA 30907.
