I almost considered your editorial on New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer ("Eliot's mess," March 12) well-written -- and unbiased, like the media should be reporting news. However, I found mentioning Hillary Clinton within the context of your article a cheap shot and unnecessary, particularly since such biased published remarks can influence voters.
On one hand, it's understandable that the media have the power to present the news with a profit in mind. But isn't it enough that newspapers can endorse high-profile candidates without resorting to negative tactics of their opponents?
Surely The Augusta Chronicle can be a little more unbiased and still successfully market their news closer to the facts. Even Hillary Clinton deserves that much.

Senator Clinton, much to the dismay of the MSM, has led a very honorable life. Anyone who has read about her life would know that. She has educated herself, advocated for children, stood up for invisible minorities, supported women's rights and human rights, passed significant bi-partisan legislation, and worked tirelessly for both healthcare and the economy. I challenge anyone to match her resume, her courage, her integrity, and her compassion. She is an American hero. I wonder if anyone here could live under the same scrutiny that she has had to and do it with the same grace and dignity.
I do not understand why the press is so biased against Senator Clinton. She is the most qualified person of all three to become Commander in Chief. Her economic, health care and education plans are far superior then McCain's and Obama doesn't have any except for what he copies from Senator Clinton. Isn't the point to elect the most qualified and the one who has the best chance to win in November? Obama will be eaten alive in the general election. If people stopped to actually look at the lies he has told about his background and experience he wouldn't have a chance in hell. People say they are part of a movement but movements start from the ground up. He is nothing more then a PR/Marketing phenomenon.

What does Spitzer have to do with Clinton. Yes, they are both public servants in New York. But, there is no evidence suggesting that there was any collusion or that Clinton is responsible for what Spitzer does in his daily life.

The Augusta Cronicle is just like the Athens Banner Herald. It is very biased against Hillary Clinton. She is by far the very best candidate for President, Republican or Democrat. She has real solutions for the awful problems the Republican Congress in cahoots with George W. Bush has gotten us into. If the citizens of the states who have yet to vote will go to the polls and vote for Hillary, then she has a real chance to be the Democratic nominee. Then after she gets the nomination, watch out!! GOP supporters make a mockery of their otherwise ideology worth considering. The classless name-calling, the mockery of the various newspapers' names that don't pander to your way of thinking, Limbaugh's antics and mimickry, etc. It's so juvenile sometimes you can't HELP but laugh - and not WITH them.
While Spitzer gets all the headlines, now, and Hillary by association, the "liberal" (note: sarcasm) seems to have forgotten the CLUSTER of sexual deviant GOP lawmakers - you know, like Larry Craig (airport stall-wart), Mark Foley (gay page-chaser), and of course, Sen. David Vitter (lover of call girls himself).
So here's an idea - and both sides take note: grow the hell up. The name-calling is CHILDISH. The endless "talking points" back-and-forth is trivial. While the left and right have their juvenile arguments, the nation as a whole slides further into abyss.
The two-party system will be the downfall of this government. Mark my word. We can't be governed because we have these two uber-movements fighting and arguing for control - only for control's sake.
