Augusta's Shaun Sanders (bottom right) tries to tackle Baltimore's Kevin Scott during Friday's game. Baltimore racked up a big second-half lead, but Augusta grabbed a come-from-behind win for the second week in a row.

Bad starts have plagued the Augusta Colts all season. Fortunately for the local indoor football team, strong finishes have followed.

The Colts improved to 3-1 on the season with a 27-26, come-from-behind win over the Baltimore Mariners at James Brown Arena on Friday night.

The home team simply stole the game from the visiting Mariners. Baltimore led for more than three-and-a-half quarters and seemed destined for a victory with a 12-point, second-half lead.

The Colts, however, never gave up. Only five days earlier, they spotted Fayetteville 12 points in the first 5 minutes of the game before rallying for the win. Friday night's effort was similar but came in front of a home crowd.

Despite totalling negative yardage in the first half and losing starting quarterback Brandon Satcher to a nagging injury on his throwing hand, the Colts staged a late comeback that started with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Young to Marvin Stone to begin the third quarter and ended with a blocked field-goal attempt by Ralph Scott as time expired.

Young, playing the role of backup quarterback again, completed nine of 13 passes in the second half to spark the comeback.

Colts fullback J.K. Sabb also contributed to the late rally with two rushing touchdowns in the second half for a team-high seven touchdowns this season. His first score, from five yards out, came as time expired in the third quarter to trim the deficit to 26-20.

Sabb's second touchdown, a 9-yard run at the midway point of the fourth quarter, gave the Colts their first lead.

The Colts' total of 27 points, which is 20 points lower than any other offensive output this season, was enough to win with the help of a strong defensive effort. Colts defensive back Shaun Sanders grabbed a clutch interception in the fourth quarter to set up Sabb's second touchdown. The defense as a whole shutout Baltimore in the fourth quarter to ensure the win.
